It sounds as though the accused may be suffering from mental health issues which if not disciplined may result in doing something silly and regrettable. For that reason action should be taken seriously.

Obedient children usually benefit from the fruits of their parents labour, wayward children cannot be trusted because they are never satisfied, and usually disrespect their parents.

If that greedy lunatic had killed his brother, many of you would've been busy blaming President Mahama, the Police, NDC, the judiciary etc.you all know how unreasonable some people can be.

In my opinion, the judge made the right call.

why blame the father? You don't know the whole story, maybe the older one stole and squandered most of the father's property and so he decided to give the rest to the younger brother.
