.............It seems the NDC gov't is running against time to send Ghana into the pits and it is extremely worrying, very, very worrying that, such a magnitude of ineptness, incompetence, recklessness and corruption can be brought to bear on our governance structures in such a crass manner. This Fortiz/Merchant bank deal deal from all indications is putrid, it stinks to the high heavens and nothing can justify such an atrocious deal, when Ghanaian taxpayers, from all indications are not getting any VALUE FOR MONEY in this stinking deal. Omane Boamah, MD should seek to explain why an equity firm which cannot even boast of the asset base to even acquire a non-financial banking license, should be made to take on this onerous task of not even a merger, but a full complete acquisition of Merchant bank, when Ghanaian taxpayers, have been offered far, far better VALUE FOR MONEY propositions from identifiable bodies with a portfolio of assets eclipsing over 100 billion dollars? It is indeed mindboggling the level of impunity and recklessness which has been unleashed on the affairs on governance by this NDC gov't. Ghana indeed deserves better than this recklessness which is permeating all facets of governance in this country. It's awfully pathetic.

Why are northerners so violent, can't they express their grievances without being physical?Ghana has been spending so much on them since independence with free education, yet when they make it they ignore their own people.

Agyena-Karikari or whatever you call your self, you would do yourself an honour if you could cross check the facts behind the rioting (against the version from the police) before you attempt passing your comments. How many times has it not been said that, the police in most cases give incorrect information to the public. The questions a discerning citizen would ask in this situation is, was the Walewale Senior High School established today? For how long, or how many times have students from the School demonstrated against the School authorities until now? Is there no fire in every smoking situation? Wait and read more about the reason (s) for the riots before you start blaming the students, since anything less than this would be seen as hasty judgement.

You should rather make sensible comments. Is it worth it for a deprived area students to burn and vandalize school building? Is it Okay for them to steal laptops? Do they not cry for being neglected? Why destroy the little that the government can do for you. Do you appreciate students in deprived areas destroying school properties? If the police gave incorrect information, what preclude you for giving the correct information at your disposal? I am not interested in their demonstration BUT THEIR STUPID DESTRUCTION OF SCHOOL PROPERTY WHICH I THINK YOU SUPPORT. You know how long it will take them and later generation to have those structures they burnt back? Can they and their parents talk of neglect by the government?

As of now you, Agyena-Karikari, are still bent in believing yourself, fair or unfair. This kind of stupidity must stop in Ghana. I again, unreservedly urge you to do your checks on the matter before you stick to your gun. Do you think the students are that stupid to behave that way if they have not been pushed to the wall. You are the kind of persons who would be fooled to death on a silly person's silliest order, though trusted voices may call you to the rescue. Be wise and up to date.

Over forty years ago, some knuckleheads at my school pulled a similar stunt and we missed nearly one year of school. Guess who lost in the end? The very students who could not cover the syllabus! Idiots and criminals this lot!!

When we attended school in Walewale (Wales town), we never had much to go around. We obeyed, we respected everything and valued our teachers! I can say that I personally benefited alot growing up with that discipline. Today, these kids have everything and still go on to destroy and cause heavy financial burden. All the kids must be made to pay for any repairs, stolen property and installations. Hey and put up their names in Walewale billboards! Very ungrateful students. Don't they realise that it is a huge damage to Walewale? We can't sit down in our town and let all these irresponsible behavior to take away our Walewale pride. Come on:
"SHERIGA IS OUR NAA, NAA OF MAMPRUGU,
WE SHALL BE LOYAL TO HIM.
WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG MAN, HE WAS A BRILLIANT CHAP,
NOW THAT HE IS OUR NAA, NAA OF MAMPRUGU
WE SHALL BE LOYAL TO HIM!!!"

Violence of this nature is unfortunate, regrettable and must be condemned in strong terms. However, we are fortunate to have heard, loud and clear, and early enough from the students the cause of their routing behaviour. The Headmaster as well as the students must stand full trial for the whole world to know the cause of the rioting from the students. The fact that someone is made a headmaster does not make him the bonafide owner of the school he/ she heads. Again, a headmaster/ mistress of a school does not have the right to do anything or treat students or stakeholders of the school any how. The headmaster of the school must be held responsible for the rioting as an out come of his tribalistic tendencies. What sort of nonsensical tribalism is that?
