The number of court houses and judges in Ghana are inadequate. The population has ballooned and changes have to be made. The same can be said of the number of police officers and the number of penitentiaries. On a visit to a number of court houses around the country I found the Ghana flag and the Ghana Coat of Arms (Seal) absent. This must change.

Good policing is needed in order for companies to operate effectively. How many detectives has the Ghana police service got and to what extent do they pursue cases? Too many people are being robbed of their toil and sweat. It is important that we increas the police-population ratio.

In many areas especially in the at least 12 Akyem districts which make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region the police is out of reach but the chiefs have been doing their best in ensuring that law and order prevail in these areas.

Looking at salary levels or the per capita income it is apparent that a sizable proportion of the population cannot afford good legal services. The government must therefore provide some subsidies in this regard lest our republic turn into an oligarchy.

Judges deserve good salaries but what would a judge consider virtuous?? Judges must bear in mind that their salaries cannot be more than the productivity of the general public. They must take the GNI per capita of Ghana into account.

How can judges help increase the GDP of Ghana? Judges must be at work by 8am and leave not before 5pm.

Yes!!,there had been multiple of instances where Nyamekye and his gang of bribe collectors compatriots never brought anyone to book. The police unblemished and unbridled support for these criminals is embarrassing. The people in the region have had it to their shoulders which is the results of their peculiar intemperate and immoderate restrains.
There is the need of a vibrant and usurious interest approach to policing in the region rather then enriching themselves with properties from bribes. Why can Nyamekye call for an investigation into how the police are building big houses in Wa town and Bamasu area.Nothing can be accomplish as far as the equanimity of poetic justice in the region.
Nyamekye, can any woman ride on her bike or walk without falling into the armed robbers hands?. Women bike riders are victims of knock down and their purses are smashed from their armpits. The police sit under the mangoe trees at the junctions and you call that police patrol.The fervent bond between the police and violent crime individuals is vivid. The police are cocooned to these savages. Their actions leave most citizens in constant fear.Mangoes do not fall too far from the tree.

You tell the criminals who gave you their information as education. This is the style of the police-Ali, Dakura told us you are an armed robber or you stole the goat. This is the kind of education you give to the people of Wa. This is a worse position to fight barrage of crime taking place in Wa. Does Inspector Nyamekye have any knowledge on crime fighting?. Do these guys know what the whistle blowing act is in the judiciary system?.
One of the solution to these myriad problems is mass transfer of the Police and Judges. They can not stay in Wa more then three years. Stop mentioning the informant to the criminals.That is a low conventionally minded approach to crime fighting.

While the Police are advising law abiding citizens to desist from taking the law into their own hands, criminals who go about terrorising people should be warned what the consequences of their acts would be. No robbery, no risk of instant justice, that' fair, is it not?

In an era of austerity, isn't it right that people who fall victim to violent crime express their emotions when the law that should protect them is largely elusive? Surely, taking the law in one's hands may be wrong but won't criminals that the wages of sin is death?
