This is self defense and not murder. At most he could be charged with manslaughter. What of if he were to be stabbed?

He over powered him, took the knife from him and stabbed him on his neck, if you over-power someone that means youv'e defended yourself, on the other hand the stabbing wasn't premeditated, therefore it is manslaughter
