I hope you read the article through. the gun is a licensed one and, i do not think the Mp wronged in doing what is right. We are also informed through the article that, the Mp at the time of the incident was aware.

So what do you suggest he is charged for? This is unfortunately the result when we refuse to think outside our political believes. Ghana is all we have and we must jealously guide the peace process.

This incidence is just a drop in the ocean there is no cause for alarm. There is no way this issue can degenerate into conflict. Ghana has for the past 4 years enjoyed relativity peace and stability. This has been made possible because of the hard work of the President. The President has embarked on the biggest re-tooling of the various security apparatus in the Ghana. The security service, especially the Police is more than well equipped to maintain peace and security in Ghana. Recently the President donated over 200 Cars to the various security units in the country. He also went on to launch the Ghana Emergency Command Center. A center which allows the live monitoring of activities by the security. And so, Ghana is not getting there. We are save and far away from experiencing conflicts in the country. There are no fools ruling Ghana, we have forward thinking leaders in charge of the activities of this country.

This story is a definition of bad journalism and its unfortunate the way we as a people by the day contribute to the killing of our nation.

what is wrong is wrong, regardless who is in charge of the affairs of the nation. it can happen during the leadership of NPP or any other party. And by our actions, we must not be seen as a people who condone and support what is wrong.

I do not think the President has at any given time advice any of appointees to own guns. Therefore it is outrightly wrong to suggest his arrest in the first place, or ignorantly drag him into this.

God be with Ghana.

I am reading with amusement the comments of readers in the forum. My question to the obvious NDC supporters in the forum, what if the shot had been fatal, would you be so nonchalant about the incident? Note that the perpetrator was released quickly without bail. Would a son of a non-politician or highly placed official been treated with the same "kids gloves" as the MP's son in a similar incident.

The two families appear to be settling the issue quietly but my concern is the subversion of the justice system by use of political influence. There cannot be one set of justice rules for those of us not politically or socially connected and another for the privileged and connected. This is a recipe for conflict.

It is refreshing to know that the gentlemen who was shoot has been sent to the Hospital to receive treatment, is my prayer that he gets well soon. I must also commend the Police for how they are handling the issue.This is what we want to see in Ghana, an observance of the rule of the law. I insist that we must not get worried about this, because the Police is handling the issue and will take necessary measures to ensure that calm returns to the town again.
