So sad, she could have given the baby out. Does she know the number of people looking for their own babies? It could be that poverty drove her to do that but that is no excuse. She must be punished accordingly.

Or is it, by virtue of the wording on the prominent notice in the foreground, meant to be some sort of sick and cynical joke at the expense of the deceased.

Either way it doesn’t say much for the quality of journalism – indeed it’s abysmal!

The Stallion, has asked a good question. Are these evil actions of killing babies/children down to pure evil & wickedness or mental health illness? Personally, I am beginning to believe that mental health illness (e.g. depression, psychotic induced symptoms caused by taking illegal drugs, paranoid delusions caused by hearing imaginary voices in your head etc), maybe a main reason for such evil crimes? Unfortunately, Ghana does not have the same resources as countries such as England where people who carry out such crimes have to undergo a full mental health assessment. If the assessment shows that the killer was suffering from a mental health illness instead of sending them to prison they are transferred to a secure Psychiatric Hospital to serve their sentence. I have previous experience of working in the mental health sector in London, and you would be surprised how many people from Ghana, are patients in Psychiatric Hospital Wards. Common reasons are depression for adults and psychotic induced illness for young people linked to smoking cannabis.
