Across the Wassa Amenfi traditional area, from the divisional chiefs to sub-chiefs there is increase unhappiness because of corruption, money-grabbing, unglodly arrogance and anyone can bribe their way through the chieftaincy system to become a chief (against all tradition) insofar as you can bribe the paramountcy…this is the tone Nana Tetrete has set in his chiefdom; money, they say, is the root of all evil…Nana money grabbing will destroy you…you are destroying your chiefdom and posterity will never forgive you; your ancestors should be turning up in their graves; above all, your paramountcy will not last long when you continue at this rate.
There are multiple rumors and not just rumors but there are absolute facts of bribery when it comes to the chieftaincy system in Nana Tetrte’s area; bribe him and the stool will be cunningly litigated in your favor; specific to this statement is the forever/on-going chieftaincy litigation going on in ASANKRANGWA. What baffles me is that you are a paramount chief, you get royalties from your land including all your divisional chief, you are never going to thirst and hunger, so why then the bribery and corruption to tarnish your image? What should your poor subjects who are barely making it do, if Nana himself is corrupt? Nana Tetrete, the rate at which you are chasing money looks like someone who was/had forever been deprived in life so now you are not going to let the opportunity go but grab, grab, and grab by whatever means necessary. I thought you are the enlightened/educated one who was trained in the United States? We thought all paramountcy in Ghana will be looking upto you with such solid foundation: democratic, honest, fairness, justice, prudent, compassionate, innovative, to name a few…unfortunately, it is rather anit-clockwise…were you missing something in the United States? I thought you lived comfortably in the United States? If so, what changed? You got corrupted and “evangelized” that fast by the Ghana system??? WoW!!! Wassa people must be magicians to be able to corrupt you overnight!!!!
Nana Tetrete, if you want to live longer and enjoy the respect of your paramountcy, you must temper with corruption and bribery. Innovate and build Wassa Amenfi to be a state of the art, surround yourself with genuine/honest/faithful people who will tell you no when you need to be told no. Do not surround yourself with YES people, and I shouldn’t be teaching you this, but this is simple MANAGEMENT 101; surround yourself with people will be constructively critical of you, give you alternatives and be able to bring solutions to the table; stop encouraging the KISS ASS, otherwise, the same people will see you naked on the street and still be saying, “Nana looks good in his crown” meanwhile the “King is Naked”; which one do you want?
Please don’t take it like I am hiding behind this forum to condemn you, no I am not, I am not a coward; this is the only means for me to reach you since all your phone lines are not going through plus I do not have your email address. Folks, we keep heaping all blame on the government on the illegal mining menace, but some in Ghana have longed pointed out that these activities are carried out with tacit approval from certain Chiefs and some Members of Parliament for the area. Ever wonder why some Members of Parliament represent themselves as "Dealers in Gold"? Yes, the government is not doing enough to combat illegal mining, but the government's attempts at stopping this menace is also being hampered by some Chiefs and politicians of the affected areas. Not only are these illegal miners taking away revenue from the government, but most seriously, their destructive ways pollute waters in the area while causing ecological harm, not to mention the added wanton decimation of the forest. The government should prosecute not only those caught mining illegally, but also their sponsors, be they Chiefs or Politicians.
