The problem here is that the man says that he did not have enough money to send her to hospital when she the wife was sick and even after the wife had eventually died, he did not have any money to send the body to the mortuary or buy a grave at the cemetery, so he just simply buried her in the nearest piece of available land.

What should first of all worry all of us is that the conditions of life have so deteriorated that such gory events are bound to increase as the standard of life gets worse by the day.

To do a folder in any of our state hospitals does not cost less than GHC80. Proper Drug prescriptions even for common ailments such as malaria will not cost less than GHC100 and in some cases over GHC300. And these drugs are what the much cheaper state health institutions would prescribe.

The average earnings of 80% of the Ghanaian working population is less than GHC15 a day. The working population of the approximately 25 million Ghanaian population is less than 15% of this number - that is about 4 million.

Can anybody who claims to be educated, tell me how the 21 million remaining Ghanaians (forget about the badly paid 4 million workers) who fall into the above deprived unemployed or non-earning category, are supposed to finance just only their individual (forget about other family members) health costs?

In spite of this, some educated clowns and idiots are actually calling for the privatization of the state health institutions which will multiply current costs to more than 300% increases.
