In USA, these Professional Health Officials even can open their own private practice dispensing health advice and attending to patients. Don't thrash Physician Assistants, they provide valuable lessons. In Ghana, most of the rural clinics are headed by Physician Assistants but we call them Doctors.

For how long will people continue to display their ignorance? when you go to health centers, district hospitals, municipal hospitals and even regional hospitals you always ( or in most cases) meet PAs who take care of you and if there is necessity for admission, they does so. they then do follow up on ward rounds to provide proper and quality healthcare until the patient is discharged. Trust me, when you visit most hospitals, PAs are on call to even attend to emergency cases. so what then prevent this same person (PA) to attends and examine his client who has been raped. if the client present with STS and UTIs, and a PA can attends to him and treat the patient to get well, what then prevent him from assessing a rape case and signing a police. please no one should use his or her ignorance to downplay PAs because they are your primarily healthcare providers. I think is a high time government come onboard pays proper attention to PAs because they work equally as medical officers..except surgery.

There is now a scientific study that seems to suggest that as the body's natural way of protection ,a rape victim may even experience orgasm ..This really does not mean there wasnt a rape.This study has been corroborated by about ten percent of rape victims,who agreed they actually experienced orgasm in the cause of the rape.With respect to the case in point,the Medical Assistant may be right when he said the lady enjoyed the act but the important question to answer now is whether the fact that he enjoyed it meant that there was no rape given the new study that emerged and seem to suggest that the body has its natural way of protecting rape victims including instantaneous orgasm by rape victims.May be the victim needed to have also gone through Psychological test as well and not just the physical examination.
