Doctors of our hospitals may be best known for saving lives but promiscuity and sexual adventurism or extortion; if there is such a description is normal in our hospitals. Student nurses and junior nurses are often at the receiving end.
The senior nurses turn a blind eye and often condone or encourage this barbaric acts. After marriages between the two professions are very common.
A few years ago, the ministry was asked to conduct a survey to ascertain how widespread or serious the practice is but with so many senior staff suspected as perpetrators, no action was taken.

Someone may allow you to have sex with her without protesting; but that doesn't mean she agreed. Agreeing and yielding are not the same.

Perhaps you have never worked in a hospital before, so listen to those of us who have witnessed such experiences. In hospitals, doctors are treated like demigods. Most instances, they get what they want. So many of these ladies have been sexually abused, but out of fear and shyness, they do not report. Its happening. And its time, the health authorities took drastic measures to curb it. As a Hospital Administrator of one of the hospitals in Ghana, Akua, I know what I am talking about.

I have always insisted that one of the most corrupt public institutions where open nepotism,patronage,discrimination and selective justice abound is the Ghana Health Service.It is basically a problem of leadership failure who create factions and interest group to allow for corruption and all manner of illegalities.This has even become more problematic in situations where doctors are administrative heads and ofetn view colleague doctors as either allies or foes.Foes Are victimized and persecuted sometimes through blackmail and dismissals as in the case of doctors who were illegally and criminally dismissed in Effia Nkwanta hospital and have been fighting their case in the human rights court in Accra since 2012 albeit all efforts to suppress their case by powerful unforeseen hands.Doctors who are supposedly allies are nothing more than mere sycophants in the medical superentendent's inner circle.They are usually the wayward and lazy ones who survive through patronage and bootlicking rather than professionalism.Effia Nkwanta iteslf have numerous cases of such depicting bias and selective justice in which everything is done to protect so-called cronies and everything done to destroy perceived enemies of the administrative head,the MS;
1.The case of a Physician Specialist currently HOD,Internal Medicine who attempted raping a married woman with a wedding ring on the finger.This case was suppressed because the specialist is a close ally to the MS.
2.The case of Sulley Gabass known to management of the hospital and many other staff.Sulley Gabass was a victim of patronage and selective justice enjoying false security instead of the reality of being provided with help until the problem got out of hand into the public domain.
3.Victimization and persecution recently saw an attempt on the life of young pharmacist with lethal injections in the name of treating him for a pyschiatry illness.This was a case of attempted murder initially being investigated by the police in Secondi only to be swept under the carpet on the quiet.
4.The case of doctors falsely implicated with a mental illness and dismissed on the basis of same because they voiced out against corruption and illegalities needlessly killing patients in that hospital who have been fighting their case in the Accra high court since 2012 in all attempts to stifle their case by powerful unforeseen hands.The irony of it is that there were doctors in Effia Nkwanta at the time known to have psychiatry illness,exhibiting gross abnormal behaviour and on medications working and earning income.Why should others going about their normal duties dismissed on the basis of a suspected mental illness without evidence?
This a good example of patronage and favouritism in the Ghana Health Service;An administrator who is not a medical practitioner comes with the truth citing far reaching examples and no other person but the Regional Director of Health Service attempts to play it down to cover it with hindsight of breach in professional ethics.The doctors who were falsely implicated with a mental illness and dismissed was because of voicing out against a bribery scandal that killed a patient because she could not afford an illegal fee of Gh.C50 for blood transfusion with a letter straight from headquarters signed by the Director General Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira that indefinitely suspended them with a condition they won't bogged to.In this case the Regional Director usurps the position of the Medical Superintendent to play down the impact of a grievous offense bothering on serious breach of professional ethics and code of conduct without any reference to the MS or investigations into the allegation of rape.As far as doctors who refused to be professional and impartial stay in managerial or administrative positions there will always be a problem of patronage and selective justice that see other doctors victimized or persecuted and others protected.The high attrition rate of some very good practitioners from the public sector into the private sector and the remarkable dwindling fortunes in public health service delivery could be traced to this.It is particularly a huge problem in Ghana Health Service where massive corruption,nepotism,cronyism,tribalism and dirty politics abound in endemic proportions.

It's sad but happens all the time and I have heard worse stories. There was a situation where a doctor had been sleeping with his colleague doctor's wife who was a nurse over a long time. Worse still, some of these doctors used some of their patients. And these are not fairy tales. A friend told me of an attempted rape on her which she never reported cos no one would believe that such a doctor could stoop so low. But why not, anything comes out of medical school at 25yrs with stethoscope around the neck calling himself a doctor. People of rather low moral fibre are now making up a once respected group of professionals. My advice to fellow ladies is, be careful around some of these creatures, they can easily take advantage of you and please report any rape or attempted rape. It's the only way to fish out the rotten.

The doctors have been raping our wives, nurses and sisters always. It's not new. Almost all the nurses have gone through that before. Least I forget some of the nurses call for the rape through their provocative dressings.
