The only way laws will wrk is whn de politicians stop interfering in de job of de Police n also whn peace keeping operations r open to all policemen to participate, by organizing de peacekeeping exams for all policemen n qualified ones get de chance to unlike now whn only policemen who knows big men n can pay more money will continue going for peacekeeping whiles de others who dnt know any big man n can't pay bride wnt even know de way to de airport, meanwhile they r all policemen. I know inspectors, sergeants, corporals who never been to peacekeeping before just because they dnt know anyone n can't pay bride meanwhile they know wht they collegues get in terms of money whn gone on peacekeeping, so since they wnt get de chance bt also needs money, they find their own way of making their own peacekeeping by extortion n taking bribes. Hmmmm bribery in Police Service can also stop whn all policemen r involve in peacekeeping operations just like de military. So plz de journalists out there n tho whole Ghanaians shld help de ordinary Police so dat everyone of dem can benefit from de peacekeeping bt nt only de big officers n those who knows big men alone will be going n be getting de dollars whiles de ordinary Police can only go for internal operations in north whiles there is no allowance or dollars bt wnt go for peacekeeping operations like lebanon, sudan, etc

Does that mean that the police in the past has been hesitatant in bringing charges against criminals? Ghana police is the the most corrupt in the world. The police in this country is constantly seen collecting bribes from motorists. If you are a victim of crime and you go to the police station to report a crime, the first thing that the police asks you is money. Isn't that sad?

Police men in Ghana are the least educated. Most of them can barely read. They fail to enforce the laws of the country because their bosses are themselves very corrupt. Here I am talking about the politician. Can the Ghana police independently investigate and prosecute white collar crimes? No, the police does not have the personnel. Why do we have an IGP? The position of the IGP is a colonial vestige. We have to get rid of it. The head of the police should be a seasoned lawyer, and not a semi illiterate with police experience. Nearly all the past and present IGPs are corrupt because in Ghana if you are a big man, you can engage in corruption with impunity.

The Mexican police are involved in any criminal activities you can think of. Nigerian police are also very guilty of everything including the rich in society.
I understand Ghana police are corrupt and need to change but they don't come near some countries including those I have mentioned.

Most police private vehicle done have road worth certificate, not insurance ,no fire extinguisher and no warning triangle.
Some do even have number plate.
Don't take my word for it.U can check from any police station.

This IGP has disappointed the country given the credentials they touted of him. Without due diligence he has transferred scores of senior officers even as the crime situation of the country degenerates. The only explanation for his non performance is the fear of disturbing members of his appointing party. Sad

The IGP should stop collecting monthly 'returns' from his Regional Police Commanders. This will stop the Police from extorting money at gun-point. Infact, the Ghana Police can best be described as uniformed armed robbers.
