Ghana Methodist Church of Toronto in Canada, at a colourful ceremony on July 3, 2016 has installed harvest king Nana Asem Tutu and harvest queen Nana Adomaah Odapajan.
Nana Asem Tutu and Nana Adomaah Odapajan as harvest king and queen will support the church's harvest committee to hold this year's harvest on November 2016.
The harvest king and harvest queen are staunched members of the church who whole heartedly contributed the highest amount of money during harvest in the previous year.
It may sound unchristian in the ears of a typical Christian who may describe it as traditional which does not go hand in hand with Christianity.
But the harvest committee of the church believes that the highest contributor's as harvest kings and queens installed only to raise funds for the church to carry out its evangelism work.
Whiles in a typical traditional way, kings and queens are made to swear an oath of secrecy or allegiance, the harvest king and queen as Christians are made to initiate a project that with the support of other members of the church will benefit the society.
So when the harvest queen Nana Adomaah Odapajan was given the microphone, she promised to raise two thousand dollars to support the church Sunday school in training children.
When it came to the turn of the harvest king Nana Asem Tutu, he also promised to support the youth in the church to receive pastoral training to augment the society's effort in evangelism.
Inducting them, Very Reverend Joseph Owusu Atuahene urged all members to use their resources to support the work of the church in winning more souls for Christ and in return receive abundance blessings from God.
