Im Nana Marfowaa's son and these people have been threatening to kill my mother, telling people not to shop at her buisness, insulting her on group calls, spread lies about my mother and we have been living with their harassment ever since my mother set up the Charlotte branch with her own teo hands. I am VERY proud of my culture and heritage, and i love reading about all of oyr accomplishments. I have to say i am very disappointed in the way my Elders, people i grew up respecting whole heartedly, are treating my mother and everything she has done for the sake of future generations, the community, and Ghana as a whole. The childish behavior i have seen between people who are supposed to be pillars in the community is sickening. This civil unjust has GOT to stop. Bullying our own people is very counter productive for our people and our future. I am not a member but i have paid very close attention to what has been happening. I called the Charlotte chief to tell him to leave her alone or i would use my legal knowledge (law student/political activitist full time job) and he told everyone i threatened his life. This whole ordeal has been very humiliating and hurtful especially when its coming from people you have grew up to respect.

It's amazing how some fools see tribalism in anything remotely connected with Asante. Historically ACONA was the first of such association to be formed in North America. The Ewes saw the wisdom in it and formed CEANA, to be followed by the Akuapem's, Brong's etc. ACONA has chalked many significant achievements, and it is the authentic and recognized institution representing Asante in North America. It has the authority to fire members who do not want to conform to the core Asante traditions enshrined in its constitution.

It is umbrella organization of SOME MEMBER ASANTE ASSOCIATIONS. There are numerous recognized ASANTE Associations in North America who are NOT members of ACONA. Additionally, no individual persons, regardless of position or social standing is a member of ACONA. Therefore, to vote to expel individual chiefs of some Asante Associations from ACONA is a total display of ignorance, stupidity and bigotry. ACONA can only expel member Associations and not individual members of member Associations. The public must be confused about this publication. It is a product of intellectual dishonesty on the part of the so called Executive Secretary, a very cunning personality with a hidden agenda to destroy Chieftaincy in North America because the Chiefs outshine him in public gatherings and he cannot stomach that.

It's about time ACONA stood firm to expel the saboteurs. These people have always undermined ACONA together with Tepahene. Now that these criminals have been expelled from the Council, they should turn their attention to the corrupt chief Tepahene. He's nothing but a thief and a traitor. ACONA should let Otumfuo, the Asantehene know that Tepahene is undermining him. He has taken upon himself to do things the Otumfuo never sent him to do, all because he was promised money. The Asantehene must ask Tepahene why he doesn't want ACONA personnel to see and talk with when they visit Manhyia. He knows that once they get to talk to Otumfuo, the truth will come out and he Tepahene will be in hot waters. He does not represent Otumfuo well at all, in fact he is a disgrace, a liar, womanizer and a thief. ACONA does not need him and therefore should not spend a dime on him again. Enough is enough.

With all due respect to Nananon, May be the Article VI of ACONA constitution and bylaws need to be revised to read suspension instead of expulsion since this is their first offence. These chiefs have built relationships with their communities they serve and expelling them not only affect them but their constituencies and the people they serve as well. May be they should have been given a chance to even step down for re-election. These are your members you once respect so do not bring them down in this shameful manner. Nana Boachie of Dallas has done a very good job of building the Asanteman Association of Dallas to a degree that has never been achieved since the inception of the Association in Dallas. Nananom, Please go back and review and revise your decision,the punishment is too stern and does not warrant the offence. This will be a learning experience for them. There is a learning curve in every responsibility.
