  If DCEs are elected and an opposition members are chosen, they will sabotage the ruling government. They will deliberately delay government projects for their party members to campaign against the ruling government.

  We have devwlopes a certain mindset over the yeats that every appointment must come from the president which ia totally wrong. If elected MMDCEs fail to bring development to their areas, they would be voted out. It is not that they'll sabotage the president. That's why it is going to be non-partisan affair. I strongly disagree with the president nominating 5 candidates. The elections of MMDCE must not entertain any political influence from anywhere.

  Mr Mahama and the NDC opposed the presidential nomination of candidates to contest the DCE back then when in opposition. Why are they going the same route. The election of DCE should be by the people and for the people. The DCEs should be accountable to the people they govern, and not to the presidency. The current system has failed to achieve its purpose, and must be discontinued.
  
  We don't want any whitewashed election of DCEs. Let democracy prevail in Ghana.

  The people should choose their DCEs freely. If the president is to nominate persons to contest then we might as well leave things the way they are. Because nothing will change. The only thing that will change is that it's going to cost us a whole lot more of our limited resources to have a DCE for each Distrinct. This should be a no go area at all.

  In Ghana, politicians want to control everything in the country by nominating their party members to occupy every position in the country. But in the USA and the UK, elections of city majors are free from political interference. Ghanaian politicians should not nominate people for MMDCE elections in Ghana. They have not been performing because they always claim to be working for the president but not the people of their constituencies
