Abbey Music Records, one of the label records that focuses on identifying talents and nurturing them to blossom as recently unveiled its new artistes in Accra.
The two artistes by the name Salman Mamud Meiyaki with stage name Rockstar, and Rashid Mortey known has ScatterBada are reggae artistes with “promising future, and they are ready to take Ghana music industry by storm", says Abbey Mesh, the manager of Abbey Records, Ghana.
Speaking to GhanaWeb on its motivation to absorb the new artistes into his record label, he said: “it is imperative to always be on the lookout for artistes who are not only talented, but passionate and disciplined.”
“We believe in helping to raise young and gifted artistes struggling to be heard and appreciated - because we believe the future belong to them. For example, 14-year old Rockstar was discovered after his performance at the 2015 VVIP Sallah Fest. ”
"At Abbey Records, we do not judge up and coming artistes by what they lack presently, but rather by what they can do with what they have now - in terms of resources, gift and inspiration; and it is on this basis that we have selected these two up and coming artistes to join Abbey Music Records.
It is our belief that in a space of few months, Ghanaians would be shocked at their delivery and contribution to the music industry in Ghana.
Abbey Music Records is a Ghana based record label, and has nurtured numbers of up and coming artistes within its six years of existence.
