It`s very unfortunate how time flies for people who want to excel in the arts and entertainment industry.
For no fault of entertainment people, age seems to be their greatest fear as the mere hearing of aging brings instant wrinkles on their faces and skins. The story is different for movie actor and screen favourite Kojo Dadson now known as DR LOVE.
Kojo Dadson has featured in many movies but is well known in the popular Tv series with a class “Home Sweet Home” which has been running on national television for the past years. He is loved for his witty acting and his good command of the English language which distinguishes him from the other colleagues in the acting field.
Meeting Kojo recently at a movie premiere in Accra, it was obvious that age was having a heavy toll on him but like they say “No shaking” for him as he is refusing to retire in the entertainment industry.
A chat with him came with a serious revelation which this writer could not hold in the dark for long but to make it public for his numerous fans across the world to know what is up in his sleeves. He tells us he has decided to add to his repertoire of showbiz knowledge a musical career where he will be competing with the likes of Sarkodie and Okyeame Kwame as one of the best rappers of our time.
He has released one single track out which he is about to start a promotional drive on radio and TV stations across the length and breadth of the country. The song comes with a funky video which is yet to be put out on public television for viewers.
The song titled “ma rap-a rap” is laden with clean lyrics rap which talks about the difficulty in getting a producer to produce his songs for him. The interesting part was when he said that he is sure of good songs but he is only looking for a good sound engineer to record those hits for me. If somebody reading is close to Nacy, George Forest, Appietus or Kaywa, they should be informed that the artiste to help them win awards has finally surfaced.
Grapevine information has it that he is being assisted by Spectrum films, producers of the award wining Ghanaian Horror movie Flash Fever which is headed by Mr Emmanuel Boamah. Though Mr. Boamah was economical with words when he was called on phone for clarification, he only told this writer to keep his eyes on the road and to expect greater things from his outfit Spectrum Films.
When Mr. Kojo Dadson (DR LOVE) was asked whether he will be hitting the stage with the single he has recorded, he revealed to this paper that it will only be determined by his producer but even with strict conditions.
The song was recorded by another underground engineer who did something to show his appreciation to the aged hip life musician.
Management will be embarking on a radio and TV tour soon to talk about the song which aims at reducing the burden fresh artistes go through in their desire to come out with quality songs. Now who say`s age can retire you in the arts industry: meet Kojo Dadson and he has a different story to tell. Watch out for the detailed story in Flex newspaper soon.
