Ghanaian Highlife legend Nana Kwame Ampadu has told an interesting story of a woman he once married called Agatha for whom he composed the ‘Agatha’ song.
Nana Ampadu narrated the story of the famous Agatha when he took his turn on Kofi TV a few days ago. The musician who also doubles as an evangelist advised young men and women to be genuine when dealing with love, since true love has the tendency to even heal sicknesses.
He told host Kofi Adoma that the lyrics of the song Agatha is a true love story he shared with the woman he loved so much, words were not enough to describe the depth of love he had and still has for her.
He likened their relationship to that of Romeo and Juliet, adding that even though he loves his current wife dearly, she doesn’t come close to what he shared with Agatha
According to the highlife superstar, he met Agatha in Bouake, Ivory Coast when he went there to play with his band. He said Agatha came to the concert. After the concert, he asked someone to bring her to his hotel only to realize that she was Ivorian, but that didn’t stop him from telling her how he felt.
Nana Ampadu recounted sleepless nights after talking to Agatha because he had not experienced such emotions before.
He added that when he was ready to marry Agatha he went with some relatives to Ivory Coast, but upon his arrival, his muse found out he did not have enough many to go on with the customary marriage and immediately, she contributed a huge sum so that he could successfully marry her.
Without giving reason for why they are no longer a couple, Nana Ampadu said even though he and Agatha are no longer together, they have remained friends and occasionally communicate with each other, a friendship his current wife is a part of.
Nana Ampadu throughout the interview reiterated without mincing words the fact that, Agatha will forever be the love of his life.
