The family of late gospel musician Jacob Yaw Mawuko Adjola is urging the public to refrain from spreading sensitive information that could hinder the police investigation.

In a press statement issued by the deceased's sister, Susan Adjola, the family expressed their distress during this difficult time and requested that people stop circulating claims suggesting their brother committed suicide.

"The sudden passing of our Jacob Yaw Mawuko Adjola has left the Adjola family in great pain. The police is currently investigating the matter; both the alleged letter and the accident, and we plead with you all to allow the investigation to take its due course.

"We would prefer more prayers during this time of our loss rather than the dissemination of any sensitive information that would make things more difficult for us," she said.

Meanwhile, in another press release from Baraka Outreach LBG, the church where the late Jacob Adjola worshipped, the organisation has called on the public to reject allegations circulating on social media that the singer committed suicide.

"This communique seeks to debunk the circulation on social media about the alleged cause of the demise of Jacob Adjola.

"Until the actual cause of his demise is confirmed, we ask the general public to disregard such rumors and pray with the family in these tough times," it said.
