Prince Darkey a worker with Adesa Production a subsidiary of TV3 and a renowned event organizer has spit a word of advice to event organizer with respect to their dealings with artists.

Speaking in a phone interview with Dr Who on Hot fm’s Hot and Classic Showbiz Review, he stated a piece of advice to event organizer to be incredulous when it comes to dealing with musicians.

“I will prefer that event organizers pay forty percent (40%) of the agreed amount and pay the remaining sixty (60%) after his performance”. He revealed

He continued to explain that there are three things he does when it comes to picking and contacting an artist for his shows; either he pays the artist in full after the show, or gives him a part payment in cash and give him a post-dated cheque which the artist will clear after the show or pay all the money to the artist before the show.

Prince stated that there is unforeseen circumstance like rainfall, accident or anything which can prevent the artist from performing these does not mean the organizer should force the artist to claim his money but rather it will be better to have a mutual agreement with the artist to prevent any court issue.

Revealing to Dr. Who, he stated that every event organizer should have a contractual agreement with the artist to prevent any form of misunderstanding and also to help the artist get an evidence in case the artist did not show up.

Most of the time event organizer and artist are involve in malicious contact because of fail in agreement which erupt from an artist failing to show up for a show he/she has been paid for and that is the reason the team of producers of Hot and Classic Showbiz Review chose the topic.
