Popular Kumasi based movie director and Film Directors Guild Ashanti Regional Chairman Isaiah Kofi Appiah has categorically stated that the movie industry in Ghana has collapsed due to the influx of movie directors from Nigeria.

According to Isaiah these directors from Nigeria go about boasting of making quality movies meanwhile they are of no much for the local directors.

"The movie industry in Accra is flooded with directors from Nigeria. Even the stars in Accra don't want the Ghanaian directors to direct them on sets. The local directors are not given the chance to direct movies and this attitude is very bad."

Isaiah Kofi Appiah who doubles as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of Directors Guild however called on the local movie producers to give Ghanaian directors the opportunity to do the job since they are capable of directing quality movies
