Sunday July 20, 2014 was exactly two weeks since popular hiplife artiste Castro, and his friend believed to be Janet Bandu were reported to have drowned in the Volta River at Ada.

After the sad incident, many media houses proclaimed the artiste known in real life as Theophilus Tagoe and his friend dead. Many Ghanaians as unprofessional have criticized this assertion by the media since their report is backed with no fact.

Popular comedian, Hip-life musician and political satirist, A-Plus real name Kwame Asare Obeng is one of the many Ghanaians who are not happy about how the media has handled the Castro saga. Speaking on Brunch 2 Lunch on Radio Univers, he said some journalists are not being professional as expected of them but carryout false information to the public.

“We can’t say all journalists are not doing what they are supposed to do, but some are not doing what we expect of them as journalists,” he said

Using Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that disappeared on 8th March 2014 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew as a case study, the controversial musician noted that “up till today, after so many months of the Malaysian airline disappearing, it is believed to have crashed into the southern Indian Ocean. If it was a Ghanaian media reporting, he would have said the plane is in the sea, everybody is dead.”

“No, it is believed that the plane has crashed into the southern Indian Ocean and it is believed that all people on board are dead."

He added that the media should not proclaim Castro dead since his body has not been found. ‘We have not seen the body of Castro, so it is very difficult for us to say Castro is dead. I’ve seen these headlines in newspapers, and it looks like they know exactly that Castro is dead.” he told Brain Stormer.

He further stated that, “journalists are not being professional, and it’s not related to this issue only. I can give you countless cases, but the bottom line is, Castro remains missing as we speak. Nobody can conclude that he is dead. Let’s wait till an autopsy comes out before we can conclude that he is dead”
