Countryman Songo pledges his undying support for Shatta Wale, blames Stonebwoy and Journalists

TV personality Country Man Songo has pledged his unflinching support for Shatta Wale and his Shatta Movement following the VGMA brawl between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy camps.

The VGMA fracas between has brought shame and ridicule on Ghana as a number of notable individuals and foreign dignitaries were present at the event.

It all started when Stonebwoy was called to receive an award, “Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the year” an award he has won five consecutive times. This appears to have deeply irritated Shatta Wale prompting him to leave his seat and walk across the auditorium to the stage where Stonebwoy was being awarded.

In self defense Stonebwoy was offered a gun which he pointed towards Shatta Wale. This however escalated the issue as the Shatta Militants who accompanied Shatta Wale to the stage became more vicious. The two groups began trading punches.

This led to a pandemonium in the auditorium as patrons were afraid of being caught in the middle of the clash or worse, hit by a stray bullet.

Reacting to this country man Songo said;

There was a time when Ghana music was dead, Nigerian music was on all the airwaves, our journalists are to blame for that, however, someone rose to uplift Ghana Music (Shatta Wale), but, no one is acknowledging him all they try to do is bring him down.

He added;

Shatta was only trying to congratulate Stonebwoy on his win.. So it doesn’t matter if he comes with his Militants… Stonebwoy is at fault, why should he bring a gun to a public gathering? Let’s stop being hypocrites and call a spade a spade. We all know the guilty party here”

The issue is still being investigated by the Ghana police, the duo would be charged accordingly as soon as the police conclude their investigation.
