Dear GhanaWeb,
I went out with my best friend of seven years to have fun, and we unexpectedly ran into her ex at the same location.
He saw us and decided to join, and we had a great time together. As we were about to leave, he asked me for my contact right in front of my best friend.
I figured he meant no harm, so I gave it to him, besides, he and my friend seemed cool.
The next day, he called, and we started communicating.
He mentioned he had always liked me but didn’t know how to tell me since he was in a relationship with my friend. I was surprised and a bit taken aback.
I asked him if it was okay to tell my friend, and he assured me they were no longer together and had no problem with it.
Nervous about discussing it, especially since we both agreed not to date each other's exes, I kept it to myself and continued talking to him.
Eventually, we started dating, and my friend found out when she went through my phone and saw his calls and messages.
She confronted me, and I told her I was just entertaining her ex for the benefits, hoping she wouldn’t take it personally. She warned me not to sleep with him.
Months later, he invited me on a trip, and when my friend found out, she was furious.
I tried to explain, insisting nothing had happened between us, but she asked that I stop communicating with him, and I reluctantly agreed.
I told my best friend I had blocked him on all social media, but I lied.
I was falling for him, and our relationship grew tighter. I was spending nearly every night at his place.
Now, I feel guilty for dating my best friend’s ex, and I’m scared of losing her when I eventually tell her I’m still seeing him. What should I do now?
