There have always been calls especially by myself for radio and TV content creators to go really dig deep into their creative juices, so they can shock listeners/viewers with wow factors in the shows they design for us.

It is one of the reasons I have been so excited about the digital migration since it will allow for more TV stations with same reach etc.

With the migration taking effect, and more and more TV channels established, the major distinguishing factor will be the quality of content and not the number of content. This same content will make others just add to the total number of TV stations and nothing else.

The influx of foreign TV contents has been with this country for years but seems to be totally dwarfing the locally produced ones because they have quality pictures, production, cast, budget etc., hence marching them to the Ghanaian produced ones becomes a dark horse.

The foreign contents are also preferred by the TV stations because they are cheap compared to producing their own.

God being so good, one of such exciting creations of a TV concept has just been unleashed into the TV market in Ghana. I cannot help but be delighted about the new TV show that has kept all talking especially for the fact that it is made in Ghana. It couldn’t have come at a time the whole Ghana is clamouring for made in Ghana contents on TV.

Kejetia vs Makola TV show is a breaker because of its quality and not because people are just clamouring for made in Ghana contents. The show imitates the Ghanaian court setting and bizarre and “stupid” cases before a very intelligent judge for ruling.

A comedy court series where one Barrister Ignatius officially known as Nana Gyasi Owusu is perceived to have been to the law school in Accra which is located around the Makola market and the other lawyer Ntim, officially known as Richmond Xavier Amoakoh who is the star of the show acts as the lawyer trained in Kumasi and since the famous market in Kumasi is the Kejetia market, he is perceived to have been schooled in the law school from Kejetia Market with the Kumasi jargons dominating his diction.

Aside both lawyers arguing their cases out and serving for the plaintiffs and defendants, there is also a competition between the two law schools as well hence the title for the series “Kejetia vs Makola”. So far the series has been very well received by people both the old and young.

Truth be told, the reception is really expected and every Doubting Thomas understands the reception immediately after watching one episode of the comedy series. I guess readers will now understand why I have consistently been calling for creativity and innovations because Ghanaians have been fed with almost the same thing for far too long. The copying and pasting era certainly must die with creative contents like this coming aboard.

Kejetia vs Makola comedy series does one thing people might not have taken note and that is the educational aspect. The role of Judge Louis Lamis who happens to be the creator of this whole concept is very essential especially with the advice he gives before his final judgment. In spite of a foolish case, he ceases the opportunity to give deep advice to all.

One problem for the locally produced series is consistency and I hope this one will jump that hurdle and provide viewers with more episodes. At the moment, it is aired on Joy Prime on Saturdays and Sundays at 5pm. If you are still in a wonderland, then check it out but if you can’t wait then search for it on YouTube and feed your curiosity while you enjoy yourself.

Leizer-Legacy Production, please do everything necessary to syndicate this content. This is an international content because every country has a court system hence can relate to the content. All you need to add might be subtitle. Even in Ghana, if the contract with Joy Prime permits, take it to other channels in Ghana to be shown on other days as well. You have a cash cow here and you need to milk it before the cow grows into an old one.

I hope the rest are watching and thinking how to also release such amazing contents since that is the only way to rid us of the dominance of foreign contents. I guess if you thought nothing fresh can come from Ghana, you must rethink because this is the beginning of a revolution.
