It is said that a kiss makes the heart young again and wipes out the years and that is exactly what former President John Kufuor seems to have gotten as a birthday gift from bubbly journalist and television news anchor, Gifty Anti.

The former President, last Wednesday, turned 72 and had a talk-of-the-town bash that attracted a tall list of politicians, musicians and celebrities to his Airport West residence in Accra.

Among the guests who turned up to congratulate John Kufuor on his birthday was GTV’s Gifty Anti and when she took her turn to exchange pleasantries with him, our cameras captured the two in a rather interesting pose.

A few of the gathered persons applauded the style Gifty used in greeting the former President and it was evident that he got captivated by her infectious smile and charming personality.

The applause got louder when Gifty and the ex-President exchanged a few whispers as they remained in the same interesting pose. After all, it is also said that kissing is like drinking salted water: You drink and your thirst increases.

Seated right next to John Kufuor was his wife, former First Lady Theresa Kufuor, dressed in all-white attire and she joined in enjoying the charm Gifty brought to the ex-President.

Though not much is known about the “behind the screens” life of Gifty Anti, News-One has gathered that her parents divorced when she was six months old and she grew up with her dad, Samuel Kyei Anti, a Police officer.

Reports say at the time Gifty was born her dad had already gone on pension. It is not too surprising, but sad though, that he passed away just when she got to the prime of her stardom and could not live long enough to see the grandchild she promised to honor him with.

She comes from Asempanyin in the Central Religion and had her secondary education at Mfantsiman Girls. Gifty attended the Ghana Institute of Journalism and had her Masters at a school in the UK.

Gifty Anti is a Christian and describes herself as a very sociable person who is easy-going and does not discriminate against the young, old or the less privileged. Among the tall list of musicians that performed at John Kufuor’s birthday include DSP Kofi Sarpong, Grace Ashey, Abrantie Amaakye Dede and Diana Asamoah among others.
