Head Pastor of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, commonly known as Kumchacha, has countered the assertions of his colleague, Rev. Obofour, who claimed there are no genuine men of God in Ghana.
Kumchacha argues that despite the flaws seen among some pastors, there are indeed sincere individuals who faithfully serve God and dedicate themselves to evangelism.
Expressing his disagreement with Rev. Obofour's remarks, Kumchacha voiced concern over the potential damage to the reputation of Ghanaian pastors and the undermining of their credibility.
In an interview with Kingdom FM, Kumchacha criticized Rev. Obofour's statement as regrettable, particularly coming from a fellow religious leader.
"No profession in the world is flawless. Perhaps Rev. Obofour himself is not genuine, but there are certainly genuine pastors in our nation. How can one assert that among all the notable pastors in Ghana, none are authentic?" Kumchacha remarked in Twi.
He went on to highlight the spiritual work of renowned pastors like Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, Rev. Dr. Boadi Nyamekye, Opambour, as well as those from Pentecost and Methodist churches, questioning whether all of them could be considered impostors.
"We have witnessed miraculous healings through these pastors, so his statement is perplexing. I cannot agree with him on this matter," Kumchacha emphasized.
Rev. Obofour’s criticism centered on allegations of moral failings among some pastors, including adultery leading to divorce and involvement in immoral activities like threesomes.
He argued that such behavior undermines the authenticity of spiritual leadership in Ghana and urged people to place their trust in God rather than in flawed human beings.
The contrasting viewpoints between Kumchacha and Rev. Obofour reflect ongoing debates within the religious community in Ghana regarding the integrity and conduct of pastors.
