“I still give thanks to God Almighty for his protection over me. Complaining and worrying will not bring an end to my serving term in prison, all I do each day is keep my faith in the Lord,” these are the words of incarcerated Goodies to his fans.
Indeed in this life, one should never wear discouraging expressions on his/her face no matter the situation, either “worst off or well off”, but putting on some of these worrying expressions, really diminishes soul , body and mind.
Barely six years ago, a top notched Ghanaian music producer and CEO of Goodies Music, Isaac Abeiku Aidoo aka Goodies, was sentenced to a 13-year imprisonment with hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court for possessing 80 pellets of cocaine.
Even upon his arrest, it was reported that he denied any wrongdoing and to the extent of requesting an X-ray examination to ascertain the Veracity of the matter.
Goodies was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport on April 23, 2008 on suspicion of possessing narcotic drugs while going through departure formalities to board a flight to London.
This took the prosecution team almost six months to finally present the necessary evidence to the court for the final hearing.
The presiding judge, Mr. Mahamadu Iddrissu on November 26, 2008, finally slapped him with a 13 year imprisonment.
Before the cocaine tragedy befell him, Goodies lived ‘a free man’s life’, and did not look worried nor comfortable even in his current ‘home’ as I may describe it but in all.
Filled with mixed feelings, he looked very much healthy and simple as he has always been with his usual broad smiling face finely tuned and bright.
Goodies appearance simply depicted the impression that although he is not in his original home, it does not necessarily mean he should wake up mourning over his current situation.
“As far as God never cease blessing me and has always taken care of my family back home each day, I will rather sing praises and give thanks and adoration to Him than subjecting myself to unnecessarily worry over my situation”, he emphasised.
Goodies expressed his sincere gratitude to his wife, children, family and friends who have been very supportive to him ever since he was sentenced.
He seized the opportunity to thank Tic Tac, VIP, Sydney and other musicians he produced on his record label.
During his era, he worked with Lord Kenya, Tic Tac, VIP, Sydney, Nana Kwame and Mzbel.
He also worked on collaborative projects between some Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes including 2Face and Tony Tetuila.
