Popular producer who was behind most of the popular hit songs in Ghana, Nana Akwasi Ansah Mensah otherwise known as AggieCoat has revealed his struggles in the music industry.

AggieCoat disclosed that his getting into music has never been a worry to him but he is disappointed he was unable to recoup what he invested in the music.

Speaking as a guest on K-Entertainment with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa FM, Saturday, the former producer of Bukbak said he invested so much in music and new talents who are now popular but was faced with electronic piracy challenge which made things difficult for him.

“I’ve never regretted venturing into music because as a Christian as I am now, the Bible tells me that All things work together for those who love God, and are called according to His purpose but I’m disappointed because I couldn’t get what I was expecting… I didn’t get money I invested into the music.

“I invested so much but I didn’t get the returns. Most of the musicians I had worked with were musicians without name. It took my own effort to build their brands for them to be known. When you’re building an image, you know how difficult it is to do so. I was even a Shadow manager to very popular Ghanaian artistes like Samini.” AggieCoat told Kojo Preko on Kasapa Entertainment.

AggieCoat has been in the music industry as a producer with over 20 years experience. He has managed artistes like Kontihene, Bukbak, K K Fosu, Kokoveli, Kwaw Kese and many others.

He is known to be responsible for hit songs like ‘Zaaza’ by Kokoveli, ‘Gonja Barracks’ by Buk Bak and other known hits.
