Popular Italian teenage entertainer, Kofi Filippo, has revealed that he is looking forward to having a Ghanaian family in the near future.
Responding in a Q&A with kwekusekyi.blogspot.com ahead of his first-ever visit to Ghana, the Brescia native said his love for Africa include his plan to marry a Ghanaian woman, as well as teaching his children how to speak the Akan language, Twi, a language he has learnt to read and write.
He therefore called on his fans in Ghana to show up in their numbers at his welcome party slated for June 13, at Vienna City in Accra, where he will perform alongside popular hip life musicians, Stay Jay, D2 and Keche.
Kofi Filippo's numerous videos on YouTube, where he sings and dances to Ghanaian music, has earned him followers from all over the world, including endorsements from highlife musician, Daddy Lumba, and a host of other African celebrities.
Sharing his thoughts on Kofi Filippo, the executive director of Heritage Nkrumah Foundation, Papa Duku Quarshie, called on Ghanaian parents to feel proud and comfortable to communicate with their children in their local languages.
According to him, Ghana's colonial educational system, where children are punished for speaking their mother tongue is shameful and needs to be corrected.
