Jesus is surely winning on all fronts and the gospel is surely taking over – and this attestation was manifested at the 2nd EMY AFRICA Awards held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel over the weekend, where gospel music sensation, Joe Mettle won the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award.
Joe Mettle, who beat the likes of Stonebowy, Sarkodie and E.L to win the VGMA ‘Artist of the Year’ – the first for any gospel act, also beat the likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and LilWin to bag the ‘Entertainer of the Year’.
As one of the competitive categories, ‘Entertainer of the Year’ winner was voted by the general public and the Academy.
The EMY Awards celebrate and tell the untold stories of great men to inspire and encourage others to aspire to be great.
Last year, Sarkodie beat off stiff competition from Shatta Wale, EL, Adjetey Annan (Pusher) and Kalybos to win big the 2016 EMY’s Entertainer of the Year award.
