Ghanaian highlife musician, Kofi Nti, has denied accusation that he stole the hit song ‘Alewa’ from former runner-up of TV3’s Mentor Season I, Andy.

Kofi Nti explained that Andy sent the song to his manager because Andy wanted to do collaboration with him (Kofi Nti) on the song.

He insisted that he had never given out lyrics of Andy’s ‘Alewa’ song to Ofori Amponsah as being claimed by Andy.

Reacting to the accusation on Atinka FM, Kofi Nti said there is no iota of truth in Andy’s story, adding that if he wanted to steal the song for Ofori Amponsah, he would have given it to Daddy Lumba because ‘Lumba is my god father.’

The highlife singer said when his manager received the song, ‘my manager told Andy the song should be edited because the lyrics were not too good. I never listened to the song but it was my manager who advised him to change some portion of the song. I was surprised when he said he had sent the song via my Whatsapp. I don’t even have Whatsapp on my phone,’ he added.
