Award winning rapper, Kwaw Kese on Thursday night, brought the Vodafone Icons-Street Edition finale to a standstill when he pulled out a surprise stage disrupt during a live recording to avenge his displeasure at the organizers.
His annoyance was simple, “my brother (Budda) was controversially evicted.” Kwaw’s act was a well calculated one and it came right on point when the announcement of the winner was about to take place. His brother according to him was the crowd’s favorite was eliminated from the Top two, and this infuriated him.
To spite more on the show and prove that his melodrama weren’t a child’s play, Kwaw Kese walked on the stage forcing South African Idols Judge and Universal Music executive, Randall Abrahams and Vodafone’s Uche Ofodile to leave the stage with the prize they had brought to present to the eventual winner.
And to gather more weight to his incessant action, he continuously incited the crowd to cheer and scream his brother’s name as the rightful winner.
To many who had the privilege of attending the Vodafone Icons-Street Edition finale, it will be registered in remembrance as that of a sardonic humour because of Kwaw Kese, but in all, whatever the consequences will be, the sounds and smells will be brought to you first hand.
