Some residents queue to register for the voter's ID
Hundreds of people who trooped to the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly on Monday to take part in the ongoing limited registration exercise have been left sitting for more than 5 hours due to unavailability of materials for the exercise.
Some of them who came from far away communities and needed to go back to attend to their daily duties had been left frustrated at the EC office.
Speaking to Starr News, they said they had been at the venue since 4 am yet still not able to register.
“I have been here since 4 am, but I’m not able to register, today is my third day here and it has been the same story that they are short of materials,” one Mohammed Sadat said.
When Starr news checked the venue at about 5 pm, the people were still sitting unattended to with some angrily leaving the premises.
All efforts to get the supervising officer for comment on the development proved futile.
