Miss Intercultural Pageant Names Delegate of Ghana

Cammepa Productions has named Yvonne Amponsah as the delegate of Ghana in the Miss Intercultural Pageant to be held in Metro Washington DC from July 16th, 2009-July 18th, 2009, with main event on July 18th, 2009.

Yvonne Afua Amponsah, the third born of four children, was born in Kumasi, Ghana. She holds strong value for family and culture. Through out college, Yvonne was highly active on and off the track, placing the 3rd fastest in the United States of America, and the 1st in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. She is a recent graduate from Virginia Tech University, where she began her studies on a full track and field athletic scholarship. Yvonne’s motto in life is faith, family, friends, and fun. Yvonne lives by this strong foundation, as she takes nothing at all for granted. Yvonne’s source of inspiration is her mother. From A young age, her mother has taught her to always put God first in everything. She always says, "make sure you pray, make sure you pray" - and that's what keeps her well focused on her goals and ambitions. Yvonne plans to promote the need to stop crime among youth by getting more parental involvement in their children’s lives, and providing alternatives for kids after they leave school - prevention of idle minds. Furthermore, she wants to help make sure resources are available to youths who have endured the criminal justice system in order to prevent them from going back. Yvonne feels most children will respond more to an experienced knowledgeable young adult rather than an authoritative adult figure, and participating in the Miss Intercultural Pageant will make her dream a reality.
