Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah has expressed his frustration with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for charging him a 21.9% revenue on tickets for his December show.
In a post shared on Facebook by the comedian, he indicated how the tax would affect him positively.
According to the comedian, he would not make a profit from the show; therefore, the Ghana Revenue Authority is doing him more harm than good.
"Charlie, Ghana Revenue Authority Official is charging me a whopping 21.9% on ticket revenue for my show on Saturday at the Bukom Arena. I am not even going to make any profit out of this event," he said.
He added that the 21.9% revenue charged by the GRA would not prevent him from organizing his show.
"We will still celebrate on Saturday regardless. Kindly show up in your numbers. If push comes to shove, we may have to refund everybody and settle with a free non-taxable show because this is just strangling. See y’all on Saturday, 21st December, at the Bukom Boxing Arena. Love you guys," he added.
On December 21st, 2024, OB Amponsah will host one of his much-anticipated shows in Bukom Arena, dubbed OB Live.
