Only JJ Rawlings can be compared to me – Shatta Wale

Musician Shatta Wale has said he can’t be compared to anybody in Ghana except one man.

According to the “My Level” hitmaker, the former president, Jerry John Rawlings, is the only person who qualifies to be compared to him.

He made this statement via a Facebook live video on Wednesday, April 3, while defending the eight awards he swept at the just ended 3Music Awards.

Shatta Wale’s massive win has been bastardized by the fans of his rivals on social media but the award organisers have cleared the air, saying he won by public votes.

In his defense, Shatta Wale has said his efforts made the President of Ghana, Nana Addo, award him a Key to the City.

“…awards are good. The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, gave me the Ghana’s Coat of Arms because I motivate the youth and I am forceful,” he stated.

He further stated that the only person who can be compared to him is Ex-President JJ Rawlings and that people should stop hating on the award scheme.

“A lot of people compare me to others. But the only person I can be compared to is JJ (Rawlings).”

“…so, if I try and move my career forward and this time, an award scheme come out to recognise me, and allow the public to vote me, allow them to decide. You can’t decide for the people.”
