Ghanaian comedian, Samuel Otto, known in showbiz as Ghana Boy, has disclosed how he was swindled by some popular prophets who promised to deliver from his blindness.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Togo Borga on GH Entertainment on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the multi-talented comedian said he was forced to visit popular prophets after he became totally blind but all his visits proved futile despite the monies he paid.
He however failed to disclose the names of these prophets but praised the Founder and Leader of Life Assembly Worship Centre, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyere Abosom for being of great help to him.
The man of God he noted assisted him financially and was bold enough to him there was nothing he could do about his blindness because God had not directed him on what to do,
He made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to help him raise funds for his music career.
According to him, he has gone back to music due to his predicament but having difficulties in raising the needed resources for his recordings.
Ghana Boy was part of the early group of comedians who starred in Keysoap Concert Party.
He performed alongside the likes of Bob Okala, Bob Santo and Nkomode, Agya Koo and many others.
Ghana Boy said he started losing his sight when he returned from the United States of America (USA) to join Kumawood.
When asked what caused the blindness the comedian said doctors were unable to identify the cause because ‘’when I was examined, the doctors told me there was nothing wrong with me. They even pledged to pay for a surgery to correct my sight but they told me there was no problem that required a surgery.’’
Ghana Boy said his eye problems started in 2007 and have eventually rendered him blind.
Ghana Boy said comedy in the olden days did not really pay but it was for the fame that they worked.
Aside comedy, he was also into painting but ‘’because I lost my sight I am unable to paint again. That is why O have gone back to my music’’.
