SP. Kofi Sarpong exhibits ‘adowa’ skills

The ‘adowa’ is a popular dance that is widespread among the Akan and is performed during funerals and public social events.

An ‘adowa’ ensemble comprises a lead singer, a chorus and percussion instruments.

Over the weekend SP Kofi Sarpong was captured on tape exhibiting amazing ‘adowa’ skills. Even though it is not clear where he was dancing, the setting portrays that of a funeral.

SP Kofi Sarpong could be seen bare footed dancing to the beats of the drums and showing beautiful hand and feet gestures and moving vigorously from one end to the other.
