An autopsy report on the remains of the former Chief Executive of Exopa Modeling Agency, Ibrahim Sima revealed that he died of “Acute Appendicitis and Purulent Peritonitis” contrary to earlier reports that he died after bumping into another inmate during a football match.
Ibrahim Sima died on Thursday December 4 after complaining of body pains. His complaints came after seriously bumping into another inmate during a football match being played by the inmates.
He was rushed to the Nsawam government hospital and was later transferred to the Police Hospital in Accra where he later died. He was buried on Tuesday December 9 in Tema.
That was after an autopsy was carried on his remains and this revealed that the former model died from “Acute Appendicitis and Purulent Peritonitis.”
Family of the late Exopa CEO accused the prison officers of negligence which led to the death of their relative.
Public Relations Officer of the Prisons Service, Vitalis Ayeh has however rejected the accusations adding that “we are under resources and could not detect that he (Sima) had an appendicitis problem.
Sima was serving a 15-year jail term for drug-related offences. He was arrested on September 7, 2009 and was sentenced in 2009.
