Since his introduction onto Ghana’s music scene with his first single, Ese, Stevein Oil has remained quite consistent and is gradually building himself an enviable niche of listeners.

In the middle of last year, the CAN 2008 song-writing competition winner released two masterpieces; Overflow and Afore?.

Stevein’s apt production and marketing teams surprised many gospel industry players with the quality of the songs put out.

One of the two latest single, Overflow, has gained almost immediate popularity amongst core urban gospel music fans and a few mainstream music lovers, mostly because of the massive airplay the song received on some radio programmes. Chief amongst them is Samuel Baah’s (Sammy Flex) AM-pluzz morning show.

In the closing months of 2015, Steve’s hard work earned him a few big gigs including No-Tribe’s 24th December concert dubbed, United Praiz.

From the look of things, Stevein Oil came very prepared and is by no means backing down anytime soon as he has released a jaw-dropping music video for his afro-beats gospel tune – Overflow.

On the invitation of the artiste, I had the opportunity of seeing the music video. The video was shot over a span of 9 months.

“Like a woman during pregnancy, we have suffered a lot of pain and frustration from numerous setbacks. But again, like childbirth, the joy of beholding the gift of a child, far exceeds the pain of labour and trust me this baby was worth the pain.” – Steve jested as he explained the excruciating process of producing the video.

Seeing the first few seconds of the music video, I knew the man was bent on breaking boundaries. It is sincerely, a work of class and excellence- the kind of music video you cannot afford to watch once and walk away. But who am I to judge?

I will leave you to make your own judgment of the artwork.

The Music video is currently rotating on Tv-channels across the globe and is available on YouTube.

When I quizzed Stevein Oil on the budget for the video, the oil man only said; “we ended up spending thrice as much as was budgeted for the video”. He was, however, tight-lipped about the specifics.

The world better get ready for this man; he’s a sweet gift of artistic awesomeness to this generation and the ones that follow.

The video was directed by another budding industry talent; Ishmael of Skyweb Videos.
