Dancehall musician, Stonebwoy has joined in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey) that has sparked controversies in the country for some weeks now.

In an X post, the "Run Go" hitmaker noted that the pain and sweat of the protesters would not be in vain as they march on to fight against the menace.

According to him, the demonstration will eventually implore the government to tackle the crises in the country.

"As we touch the streets to advocate for the better.. As we walk in the spirit footsteps of the Great ancestors that led us to freedom once upon a time. May our blood sweat and tears not remain in vain… "

"So we implore Gov’t or leadership ( incoming or outgoing ) to Just validate our struggles by showing detailed plans on how to tackle the very pressing issues, such as “GALAMSEY” that face us as Ghanaians and RIGIDLY COMMIT to it," he said.

Stonebwoy also called for an urgent facelift of the dilapidated Korle-Bu mortuary after a TV3 documentary highlighted the facility's struggles.

"Not forgetting the deplorable state of the Korle-Bu mortuary, amongst many others.." he added.

Stonebwoy has long advocated against illegal mining and the destruction of Ghana's natural resources, even releasing a song that condemns the issue.

However, during the recent #FreetheCitizens and #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests, some individuals wildly criticised him for not participating in the demonstrations.
