Actor Edward Agyekum Kufuor has lamented about how Ghanaian movie producers are fond of painting demeaning pictures of Ghana through their movies.

In an interview on ATUU with Abieku Santana, the actor who doubles as a reverend minister noted that developed countries are thriving today because of how movie producers and directors have portrayed their country through their movies.

"Our movie industry should have been a tool for development, but we are going astray, the movie industry is the reason why most developed countries are thriving, America is America today because of what they have shown in their movies"

He added, "As much as we want to be realistic about our culture, we have to be selective about what we show the rest of the world, to be frank, we portray demeaning pictures to the world and we have to change"

Edward Agyekum Kufuor is a multi-award-winning actor who has featured in several movies such as "When Love Comes Around", "Blurred Lines", "Wrong Target" and many others.

He is also currently an executive member of the Governing Council of the Asian-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI).
