Stormzy supports 21-year old’s Harvard ambitions with £9,000

UK-based rapper Stormzy has made a donation of £9,000 toward a Masters programme in Human Development and Psychology for 21- year old Fiona Asiedu.

Scheduled for the Harvard Graduate School of Education this August, Asiedu requires a total of £59,000 to complete the course which runs for nine months.

Stormy’s donation, together with other funds raised from a crowdfunding initiative, as well as external scholarship and financial aid from the department will tae care of the entire cost.

Asiedu indicates that she’s “particularly interested in psychological development of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, specifically ethnic minorities and those from working class backgrounds” and goes on to say:

“Studying Human Development and Psychology will equip me with the knowledge and skills necessary to generate effective interventions, particularly targeted at young people, to uphold healthy psychological development within this community.”

Of Ghanaian origin, Stormzy is among selected acts for this year’s edition of the esteemed Made In America concert slated for Philadelphia in September. His chart -topping album Gang Signs and Prayer is out now.
