Accra June 15, GNA - A trader who poured hot water on her colleague resulting in severe burns on her head, chest and breast was Wednesday remanded into prison custody by a Circuit Court in Accra. Kande Mohammed charged with causing unlawful harm, pleaded not guilty. The court refused her bail stating that the victim Sekina Shaban was still receiving treatment at the hospital.

Sekina had bandaged wrapped around her head and chest and a relative had to assist her to come into the court.

The case of the Prosecution was that Sekina and Kande lived in the same house at Nima in Accra.

A month ago, Sekina and Kande quarrelled but the elders in the house settled the matter amicably between them.

On June 9, 2005 at about 0730 hours, Sekina was returning from the bathhouse when Kande without any provocation poured hot water on her. Prosecution said Sekina sustained severe burns on the head, chest and breast.
