Trending hairstyles affect the human personality?

In our current generation, every ‘glittery’ and ‘pleasy’ way of life is very welcome and accommodating to the youth without having a thought of its impact on his or her personality.

Although, most current trends in our fashion world have been in existence way back in the 60’s; hairstyles, dress styles, shoes and slippers, a few to mention may as well be a hindrance to the wellbeing of the human personality.

Focusing on hairstyles, be it braids, naturals, touched (perm) or weaved-on; quoting s Shana Alexander, “Hair brings one’s self-image into focus; it is vanity ground. Hair is terribly personal, a tangle of mysterious prejudices”; therefore the need to be very watchful when trimming or styling it. It can either make you or break you.

With the current trending hairstyles including ‘gallas’, ‘fading’, ‘back bush’…all natural hairstyles, fixing of Brazilian hairs, Peruvian hairs, etc. (weaved-on) and mixed ‘mesh’ and ‘twist’, ‘oh Vera!’, etc. (braids); each hairstyle may create some impressions about a person’s personality which in turn can negatively affect him or her.

Very well, it may be a very common hairstyle trending in town all in the name of fashion but ask yourself this questions, what impressions does my hairstyle creates about me, what would my employee, family elders and members, friends and children think of me, what impact can my hairstyle have on people who admires and sees me as a role model?

Not to say fixing a weaved-on or a nice trimmed ‘gallas’ or ‘fading’ hairstyle is a bad idea, but a very good example is Eazzy, Ghana’s representative at the season 8 of Big Brother Africa (BBA); how allegedly, Brazilian hair got her evicted from the house. Did that reason not create some sort of bad impression about her?

How about that hairstyle you had on, be it ‘galas’, ‘fading’, ‘oh, Vera!’, and/or Brazilian weaved-on not prompt for attention when you walked into an auditorium, an event or even just walking on the streets to your home or work? Has it as well not contributed to your lose at a job interview?

Do you have any contribution on this subject? Let’s get talking.
