M3nsa, a member of controversial music group FOKN Bois has described Ghana Musicians as lazy for not using the power of music to influence change in society either than singing about love, women and sex all the time, according to Nydjlive.

The FOKN Bois prolific rapper and a pioneer in the Hiplife movement in an interview on Kapital Radio in Kumasi said, “We have the power to change the fortunes of our country but we are just lazy. We need to do something different than just jumping to the bandwagon”.

Drawing inspiration from words of Afro-pop legend, Fela Kuti, who said,“The African musician should not sing about love because we have more important things to talk about; ” M3nsa lamented that, “In a country like Ghana where politicians do not care about the citizenry, the only powerful tool to get to them and bring to bare the social issues and challenges is music”.

M3nsa joins a long list of people who have come out to raise issues about the lyrical content of music in today's Ghana, and the direction of the Ghana music industry.

The FOKN Bois, the group which M3nsa belongs, is reputed for their ambiguous stands on systemic lapses. Their open criticism of policies and laws across the globe has won them many audience who share in their campaign to conscientise people through entertainment laced with poetic rap lines.

“But it hurts that most Ghanaian musicians who are super talented do not even know the power of their craft and skill and would therefore sing all about women and love.

According to M3nsa, he is not against any musician but hoped there will be a change, as people will soon be fed up with what looks like a duplication of works.
