Acclaimed Ghanaian gospel singer Florence Obinim has opened up about the ordeal she endured after facing intense criticisms on social media over her new look.

Speaking during a discussion on United Showbiz, and monitored by GhanaWeb on April 5, 2026, Florence Obinim revealed that she went through emotional pain after being dragged online for allegedly undergoing cosmetic surgery.

According to her, the rumours were false and nearly pushed her into depression.

“Only God knows the truth. It went viral that I had undergone facial surgery, and while I was trying to stay calm and reflect on myself, another issue came up. Prophet Kumchacha had nothing to do with it,” she said.

While recounting the incident, Florence Obinim became overwhelmed with emotions and then broke down in tears on live television.

She further explained how Prophet Kumchacha supported her during a time when she was contemplating harming herself.

“It seems God knew that if Kumchacha hadn’t spoken up, things wouldn’t have ended well. What he told me during that difficult time really consoled me. May God bless him,” she added.
