In the wake of Fella Makafui's purported arrest for selling unauthorized drugs and products, public outcry has led to increased scrutiny and condemnation, particularly targeting celebrities engaged in similar practices.
Concerns have been raised regarding various products, including some butt enlargement items purportedly promoted by singer Yaa Jackson.
A netizen's post tagging the FDA spotlighted the issue: "Yaa Jackson has been selling these drugs always on Instagram but the authorities are quiet. Hypocrites."
Responding to the public outcry, the FDA cautioned against purchasing such products.
They revealed ongoing investigations aimed at cracking down on these items and advised the public to steer clear of them.
“Thank you for the alert. We appreciate vigilant individuals who report such concerns. While our team investigates further, we emphasize that the FDA has not approved any product for body part enlargement. The public should refrain from purchasing this and any similar product,” their response read.
Meanwhile, the FDA also clarified its stance on regulating products making spiritual claims, particularly addressing inquiries regarding items promoting a men-charming potion known as 'kayamata.'

Fella Makafui's purported arrest over the sale of unregistered FDA products
The recently reported arrest of Ghanaian filmmaker and entrepreneur Fella Makafui by the police is said to be a part of ongoing investigations into reports of unlawful sales and promotion of drugs.
A press statement by ISPYGH 247, a purported media firm claiming to have investigated her activities, showed evidence of illegal practices, including the sale of unregistered drugs, false advertising, and promotion of unproven drugs.
Fella reportedly admitted that most of the drugs she sold were not registered with the FDA.
Meanwhile, Fella's management has refuted claims of her arrest. According to a statement released on May 23, 2024, Fella was only invited to answer questions.
"Please disregard the reports about actress Fella Makafui’s arrest. She was invited yesterday and departed soon after, respectfully honouring the invitation.
"She shared all necessary information about the subject matter to assist the investigation and presented her license from the Ghana Traditional Medicine Practice along with details of her FDA-registered products.
"Additionally, she provided information on the few products still undergoing the registration process,” the statement stressed.
Background
These developments stem from recent remarks by Medikal, alleging that his estranged wife, Fella, had undergone plastic surgery for body enhancement, contrary to her claims of using the products she sold.
