UK-based Ghanaian TikToker, Linda Osei, known as Maa Linda, has raised questions about former Ghanaian footballer Michael Essien's inability to settle a debt, resulting in his two mansions being put up for auction.

She lamented that despite Essien's substantial earnings from his football career, he was unable to pay off a debt, leading to the Accra High Court's order to sell his two properties in Ghana.

In a TikTok live session, Maa Linda appealed to Essien's former Black Stars teammates, including Asamoah Gyan, Muntari, Stephen Appiah, and the Ayew brothers, to provide financial assistance to their colleague to clear the outstanding debt.

"What has led Michael Essien to such a state of need? What happened to his money? Why is he so 'broke' that his house is being sold? Could there be an unknown issue, or should we inquire with Asamoah Gyan? You all could pool together $50,000 to help him out.

"Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, Boateng, and Abedi Pele's sons should offer financial support in this predicament. Don't just stand by while Essien's house is auctioned," she asked.

This inquiry follows reports that the Accra High Court Commercial Division has ordered the sale of two mansions belonging to Michael Essien.

As reported by Dailyguidenetwork.com and sighted by GhanaWeb, the properties are situated at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon, House Number 9, and House Number 204/205, Trassaco (Phase 2) Adjiringano, in Accra.

An auctioneer, tasked with selling the properties and speaking anonymously, verified the Deputy Sheriff of the High Court's order.

The auctioneer appraised one of the properties to be worth between $20 and $30 million.

Although the specifics of the court proceedings are not fully disclosed, a report by Kickgh.com suggested that the ex-Chelsea midfielder has been grappling with financial challenges, including unsettled loans.
