Ernest Kwesi Ennin, manager of gospel musician SP Kofi Sarpong, has described as “disrespectful” comments by Counselor Rev. Counsellor George Lutterodt which sought to taunt the brand of his artiste.

Counsellor Lutterodt during an interview with Lexis Bill on Joy FM labelled gospel musician, Cwesi Oteng, a copycat and suggested that SP Kofi Sarpong, Nicholas Omane Acheampong and other gospel acts are irrelevant.

“They are wasting their time. Cwesi Oteng is a copycat. SP Kofi Sarpong and Nicholas Omane Acheampong are just adding to the number,” he said.

His comment obviously were not taken lightly by Kwesi Ennin as he launched scathing attack on the Counsellor.

“The way Counselor Lutterodt speaks, if you are not careful, you’ll descend into the gutters with him. If he thinks he’s come of age and is not even adding up to the number of counselors we have in Ghana, he should try go and book National Theatre and see if he could fill only the front seat. Then he can come back and say someone who has been a musician for over ten years, Kofi Sarpong who has filled National Theatre is adding to the numbers,” he said on Daybreak Hitz, Thursday.

“It doesn’t make any sense… We also think he’s also wasting his time. Anybody who claims to be a counselor brings peace, heals wounds, proffer solutions to problems; not a person who wakes up one morning and attacks personalities in the name of making headlines. He should go and find out the meaning of a counselor… If you do this, you don’t have my respect” the Media Excel Productions boss added.

Kwesi Ernest could not fathom why Counsellor Lutterodt would sting a brand he [Lutterodt] has marketed before.

“He was the same person who went on social media at the time SP Sarpong was holding his concert publicizing the event. He was holding his ticket and urging people to come and watch Kofi Sarpong. So if you’re now saying the person is wasting his time, were you wasting your time when you were advertising his concert?” he queried.

Touted as one of Ghana’s ebullient gospel musicians, SP Kofi Sarpong on May 28, 2017, held a successful show as he filled the National Theatre with his maiden SP Sarpong Live in Concert, abrantepa.com can state.

The policeman cum musician released his first album ‘Sacrifice’ in 2012 and this brought him into the limelight. He also has songs like ‘African Borborbor,’ ‘Adom Bi,’ ‘Abotre,’ ‘Agyenkwa’ and ‘Aseda.’

He has won several awards in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK and other internationally recognised award schemes.
